A hundred years ago, Christians were about 18 percent of the population. But that has changed. Now Christians are only about one and a half percent of the population. Many Christians have left Israel and Palestine to get away from the violence. Others have left because it is hard to find a place to live that they can afford, or because good jobs are hard to find. Many Palestinian Christians are afraid that in their lifetime, there may be no more Christians in the land where the church began.
