Youth
YOUTH are not very numerous at First Presbyterian Church of Bandon, but they are very active and evident in all that we do. They participate regularly in worship as acolytes, lay leaders, dramatists, musicians, greeters and ushers. They also participate in many ways “behind the scene,” preparing our candles for worship, working on the grounds, assisting with the children, etc.
Older middle school and high school students meet at 6:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, either at the manse or at one of the youth’s homes for what we like to call GodTalk–dinner and discussion of God’s activity in our lives, often followed by fun and games.
Youth are also encouraged to attend various kinds of summer camps or conferences that strengthen their faith, frequently with financial support from the congregation.
FPCB also has an Educational Gift Fund, which provides financial support to youth who are active in the church in pursuing education beyond the high school level. Questions about this fund may be directed to the pastor or the Moderator of the Christian Education Committee of Session.
