First Presbyterian Church of Bandon, Oregon

“They will be My people, and I will be their God.” Jeremiah 24:7

Small Groups

Bandon First Pres has several smaller groups which meet regularly, all of which would welcome your participation.

The Chime Choir (and often a number of friends) meet for an always adventurous potluck dinner every Monday evening at 6:15 PM, then rehearse our chime music at 7:00 PM.  Chimes are nearly indestructible, and playing does not require any great music-reading skill (that’s what highlighters are for).  Director Chuck McLauchlin is patient (he’s a middle-school teacher!) and he would welcome anyone who would like to play with us.

The men of the church meet the second Saturday morning of each month at 8:00 AM for breakfast.  There is no agenda–they simply enjoy one another’s company and Keith Young’s delicious food!

The women are a little more organized.  Presbyterian Women (PWC) meets for business and information at 10:30 AM on the second Monday of each month, share a “brown bag” lunch together, and then do a Bible study at 1:00 PM.  A number of the women also meet on the fourth Monday at 1:00 PM to complete various mission projects, including “chemo kits” for cancer treatment patients, quilts, baby blankets, and a variety of other items.

Teens meet (usually at the pastor’s home) at 6:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings for GodTalk–a meal, Christian study, and lots of fun and games.  Parents are welcome, and often join in the fun, or host us at their homes.  This is a safe place to ask questions, talk about what faith means in our everyday lives, and draw closer to each other and to God.

There is a traditional adult Sunday School class which meets each Sunday through the school year at 8:45 AM.  There are additional study series on various topics and/or biblical texts offered by the pastor at various times throughout the church year.  Check the bulletin, newsletter or online calendar for the times and locations for these.
